Lara Allred (Sister Mary Martin of Tours)
Lara appeared in Charleston Stage's Hairspray (Velma VonTussle), Young Frankenstein, Mary Poppins, Catch Me if You Can, 9 to 5, Legally Blonde, Cabaret and Joseph. She performed in the Village Repertory Co.'s Xanadu (Kira), The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (Hallie), Marvelous Wonderettes (Cindy Lou), Winter Wonderettes (Cindy Lou), One Man Two Guvnors (Pauline), London Wall, Spamalot, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson and Ring of Fire. She also choreographed their Spamalot and Wild Party, for which she won a Theatre Charleston Award. Some of her other performances include Christine in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Footlight), Annie Sullivan in The Miracle Worker (Footlight), Charity in Sweet Charity (Flowertown), Laura in The Glass Menagerie (Threshold), Lily St. Regis in Annie (Charleston Music Hall), Winifred in Once Upon a Mattress (Lazy Susan) and the original Angela in Perfectly Normel People (Footlight, Threshold, NY International Fringe Festival) for which she won a Theatre Charleston Award. Lara is a member of Charleston Stage's 2016-17 Acting Company.
Nathan Burke (TJ)
Nathan, originally from Keller, TX, graduated from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. Regional credits with Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival in Durant, OK, include: Orlando in As You Like It and Aaron Shultz in Legally Blonde: The Musical. Stage roles at Ole Miss include: Clive Paget/John Jasper in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Hot Blades Harry in Urinetown, J. Shultz/R. Schmidt/D. Shepherd in The Laramie Project, Moritz in Spring Awakening (Ghostlight Repertory Theatre) and Nicky/Trekkie/Bad Idea Bear in Avenue Q (GRT). Nathan is a second-year member of Charleston Stage's Resident Professional Acting Company. Charleston Stage lead roles last season include: Plant Puppeteer in Little Shop of Horrors, Ichabod Crane in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Frog in A Year With Frog and Toad, Mr. Sonny in The Seat of Justice and Bert in Mary Poppins.
Pen Chance (Curtis)
Pen, originally from Augusta, GA, is a graduate of Catawba College in Salisbury, NC, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Theatre Arts Administration and a minor in Music. Catawba credits include: Roger in RENT, El Gallo in The Fantasticks, The Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors, Reverend Hale in The Crucible and Nicely-Nicely Johnson in Guys & Dolls. Some Augusta credits include: Snoopy in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Rudy in Bent, Lombard in And Then There Were None and Judas/John the Baptist in Godspell. Pen is an experienced studio and touring musician, specializing in vocals and drums/percussion. Pen is a second year member of Charleston Stage's Resident Professional Acting Company. Charleston Stage lead roles last season include: The Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors, Brom Bones in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Grown Up Ralphie in A Christmas Story, Toad in A Year With Frog and Toad and Mr. Harrigan in The Seat of Justice. This season, Pen recently starred in Hairspray as Edna, in White Christmas as Bob Wallace and in Peter and the Starcatcher as Ted. For Graham.
Rylee Coppel (Sister Mary Patrick)
Rylee is excited to be back at the Dock! Rylee recently moved to Charleston from northern NJ with her husband Ben. Rylee is the co-founder and Artistic Director of Dance.Laugh.Learn., a music, movement and drama program for kids, aimed at sparking an early love for the arts. Rylee has performed regionally and internationally with such companies as: Sesame Street Live, Joey Casella Productions, Theatre Rehabilitation for Youth, Roxy Regional Theatre, RWS and Associates and American Entertainment Productions. Additional performance credits include: Shout: The Mod Musical (Red Girl), They're Playing Our Song (Sonia) and Nunsense (Sr. Robert Anne). Thanks to Marybeth, Sam, Ashley, Sarah and the whole cast for being so welcoming and to Ben for making everyday a party... LYM.
Camille Corinne (Tina, Nun)
Camille, originally from St. Louis, MO, is a recent graduate from Missouri State University with a BFA in Musical Theatre. Her favorite roles include: Armelia in Ain't Misbehavin', Thea in Spring Awakening (Springfield Contemporary Theatre), Chiffon in Little Shop of Horrors (COCA) and Dionne in Hair (Missouri State University). Other MSU credits include: Catherine in Children's Hour, Runaways and Tongues by Sam Shepard. Other Regional credits: Alice in Big River (Great Plains Theatre), Ornella in Leap of Faith and Dynamite #1 in Hairspray (featuring Kim Crosby). Camille is a member of Charleston Stage's Resident Professional Acting Company.
Beth Curley (Mother Superior)
Beth most recently appeared with Charleston Stage as Martha Watson in White Christmas as well as Mrs. Brill in Mary Poppins. Other Charleston Stage acting credits include: The 39 Steps (The Woman), The Seat of Justice (Mrs. Elizabeth Waring), Catch Me If You Can: The Musical (Carol Strong), The Diary of Anne Frank (Mrs. Frank), Gershwin at Folly (Dorothy Heyward), 9 To 5: The Musical (Margaret) and Inga Binga (Betty). What If? Productions acting credits include: The Cannibals (Frankie), Cabaret (Fraulein Schneider), Five Lesbians Eating A Quiche (Wren), Hearts Full of Blood (Allison), Little Shop of Horrors (Ronette) and Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Yitzhak). When not on stage, Beth is the Director of Marketing/Resident Graphic Designer for Charleston Stage. Beth is also a member of Charleston Stage's 2016-17 Acting Company.
Maddie Fink (Female Ensemble)
Maddie is currently majoring in Arts Management at the College of Charleston ('19). On the Dock Street stage, Maddie was recently seen as Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray and as an ensemble member in White Christmas. Other favorite credits include: Mayzie La Bird in Seussical the Musical and Campbell in Bring it On the Musical. Maddie would like to thank her amazing family, friends and everyone who helped make performing here possible!
Alex Garcia (Eddie)
Alex is from Greece, NY, and has a BFA from Niagara University. His most recent show was Annie Get Your Gun (Cowboy). His past performances include: Home Game (Charley/Marco) and Josiah for President (Carl) with Blue Gate Musicals, Tales of Custard the Dragon (Mustard) with Rochester Lyric Opera, Math-stronaut with Creede Repertory Theatre and Twelfth Night (Orsino) with London's Live Literature Company. Favorite roles performed include: A Chorus Line (Paul), Urinetown (Bobby Strong), Into the Woods (Wolf & Cinderella's Prince), Annie (Rooster), Amahl and the Night Visitors (Melchior), Curtains (Bobby), Bat Boy (Dr. Parker), Damn Yankees (Rocky) and The Pirates of Penzance (Pirate). Alex is a member of Charleston Stage's Resident Professional Acting Company. This season, Alex recently starred as Count Dracula in Dracula, King of Vampires and Ramblin' Rabbit in Beneath the Sweetgrass Moon.
Olivia Iacovone (Female Ensemble)
Olivia is excited to be returning to Dock Street Theatre after many years off the stage. She attended Charleston County School of the Arts as a Theatre major and grew up working with Charleston Stage Company in many productions. She later graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from The College of Charleston and now enjoys working for a local publishing and marketing company, Advantage Media Group/Forbes Books.
Sean Michael Kelly (Joey)
Sean, originally from Hastings, MN, recently graduated from Carthage College in Kenosha, WI, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Theatre. Roles at Carthage include: Bobby Strong in Urinetown, Che in Evita, Buddy in Sideshow, Moritz in Spring Awakening and Sancho in Man of La Mancha. He had the privilege of touring with the Music Theatre faculty throughout China, performing in Seussical and Next to Normal for many children's schools and universities. Last summer he was seen at the Red Barn Theatre in Frankfort, IN, performing in The Boys Next Door, Two in the Aisle, Three in the Van and the musical Lucky Stiff. Sean is a member of Charleston Stage's Resident Professional Acting Company. This season, Sean recently starred as Link Larkin in Hairspray, Jonathan in Dracula, King of Vampires and Prentiss in Peter and the Starcatcher.
Ryan Pixler (Monsignor O'Hara)
Ryan is a graduate of the College of Charleston with a degree in Theatre for Youth. Favorite credits include: Robertson Ay in Mary Poppins (Charleston Stage), Carmen Ghia in The Producers (Charleston Stage), Pinocchio in Shrek the Musical (Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival), Phil d'Armano in Wild Party (Village Rep.), Mitch Maypole in Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens (What If?), Ed Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You (Charleston Stage), DuBose Heyward in Gershwin at Folly (Charleston Stage) and President Roosevelt in Annie (Charleston Stage). Ryan is a member of Charleston Stage's 2016-17 Acting Company. This season, Ryan recently starred as Male Authority Figure in Hairspray, as Mike in White Christmas and as Grempkin/Fighting Prawn in Peter and the Starcatcher.
Ben Pooser (Male Ensemble)
Ben is ecstatic to once again be performing at the fabulous Dock Street Theater. He first performed with Charleston Stage at 8 years old and the acting bug has been in his system ever since. A native Charlestonian and a graduate of Charleston County School of the Arts (where he majored in Theater) and the College of Charleston, Ben has performed all around the country with travelling improv troupes and most recently performed at Theater 99. Favorite roles include: Francis Flute in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Lucentio in Taming of the Shrew, Smee in Peter Pan, Tartaglia in Commedia del'Arte's King Stag, Antipholus of Syracuse in Comedy of Errors and Brooks Decker in The Con. Ben would like to thank his family and friends for all of their support over the years and urges all of you to follow your dreams and shine.
Andrea Rausch (Sister Mary Lazarus)
Andrea was born and raised in Southern California and is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Charleston Stage credits include: Bird Woman in Mary Poppins, Shirley Markowitz in The Producers, Mrs. VanDann in The Diary of Anne Frank and Ensemble in The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein. Andrea is also an educator in the Charleston area working with Storytree Theatre! She is honored to be a part of the Charleston Stage's 2016-17 Acting Company and looks forward to her 3rd season with Charleston Stage. Special thanks go out to her amazing husband Mark, her two wonderful sons Logan and David and to her very supportive parents! She would also like to thank Charleston Stage for the opportunity! William Rutkowski (Male Ensemble)
William, originally from Buffalo, NY, is thrilled to be performing with Charleston Stage again! He is a senior Theatre for Youth major at the College of Charleston. His College of Charleston credits include: The Who's Tommy (Ensemble), Assassins (Giuseppe Zangara), Accidental Death of an Anarchist (Superintendent), Lovers and Players (Flavio) and he was last seen in Charleston Stage's productions of Peter and the Starcatcher (Captain Robert Falcon Scott), Hairspray (Brad) and Mary Poppins (Park Keeper). William recently appeared in What If? Productions' Amadeus as Venticelli. Maggie, originally from Huntington, WV, graduated from Catawba College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. Stage Management credits include: True West, References to Salvador Dali Make Me Hot, The Life of Galileo and Dead Man's Cellphone. Jesse Siak (Pablo)
Jesse is Charleston Stage's Associate Director of Education and a proud member of Charleston Stage's 2016-17 Acting Company. Jesse holds a B.A. in Theatre Education from Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina. Over the past five years, he has taught and performed all over North and South Carolina, most notably at Flat Rock Playhouse (Flat Rock, NC) and South Carolina Children's Theatre (Greenville, SC). At Charleston Stage, Jesse wears many hats (like the entire staff). Whether he's teaching classes in the TheatreSchool, heading the High School/Middle School Acting Programs, helping guide RAs in their educational development, leading Charleston Stage's in-school workshops, directing or acting, he stays very busy. Favorite Charleston Stage roles include: Leo Bloom (The Producers), Dr. Frederick Frankenstein (Young Frankenstein), Henry (Next to Normal), Benjamin Cohen (The Underpants), Joe (9 to 5: The Musical), Dr. Watson (Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure) and Jacob Marley/Topper/Fezziwig/Butcher (A Christmas Carol). This season with Charleston Stage, Jesse recently starred as Corny Collins in Hairspray and Phil Davis in White Christmas.
Kathy Summer (Sister Mary Teresa)
Kathy is thrilled to debut at Charleston Stage in this wonderful production of Sister Act! After performing in shows in and around the Charleston area for 30 years, it's about time! By day, she is a Theatre Arts teacher at Windsor Hill Arts Infused Elementary School. Some favorite roles that she's performed around town: Mama Rose in Gypsy, The Baker's Wife in Into the Woods, Marion Ames in Swingtime Canteen, Big Edie in Grey Gardens, June in Red and White Cash (Village Reparatory Company at Wolfe Street Playhouse); Princess Puffer in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Katherine in Pippin (Footlight Theatre); Berthe in Pippin, Mae in Reefer Madness (Midtown) and Sister Hubert in Nunsense (Flowertown Players). Aleah is a Canadian born to two Jamaican parents who raised her in Tennessee! In 2015, she graduated from Samford University in Birmingham, AL with a BFA in Musical Theatre. She is a member of Charleston Stage's Resident Professional Acting Company and is so excited that Sister Act is finally here! Previous Charleston Stage credits this year include: Hairspray (Dynamite), Dracula, King of Vampires (Drucilla) and White Christmas (Judy Haynes). Thanks to God and her family.
Luciana Marcial-Vincion (Female Ensemble)
Luciana has thoroughly enjoyed performing and choreographing for Charleston Stage over the last 18 years, especially Pippin, Guys and Dolls, Anything Goes, Chicago and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Favorite roles locally include Nikki in Sweet Charity and Mavis in Stepping Out with Footlight Players. She is an international fitness presenter, lecturer and Master Instructor for the Spinning® indoor cycling program. Much love to her husband Chris and kids Zen and Kalea for continued support while Mommy spends late nights singing and dancing.
Matthew Willingham (Male Ensemble)
Matthew is so excited to be performing in another show with Charleston Stage! Matthew is a Charleston native and is currently a senior Theatre major at the College of Charleston where he serves as secretary on the Board of Center Stage, the only student-run theatre organization on campus. Past Charleston Stage credits include: Peter and the Starcatcher (Mrs. Bumbrake/Teacher), Hairspray (Sketch), Mary Poppins (Mr. Von Hussler/Ensemble), The Producers (Ensemble) and Catch Me If You Can: The Musical (Ensemble). Other credits include What If?'s productions of Amadeus (Venticelli) and Cabaret (Victor) and the College of Charleston's production of Assassins (Ensemble). Atam Woodruff (Drag Queen, Male Ensemble)
Atam was born and raised in Evansville, IN, and has spent the past three years in Memphis, TN, as a preschool teaching assistant and local actor. Some of Atam's favorite Memphis credits include: Jesus in Reefer Madness, Schroeder in Charlie Brown, Sketch in Hairspray, The Mute in The Fantasticks, Favorite Son in American Idiot, The Wolf in Into the Woods and many more! Atam is thrilled to be joining the Charleston theatre community in his second production on the Dock Street Theatre stage. Atam recently appeared as Smee in Peter and the Starcatcher and Fender in Hairspray. He sends all of his love to Ashley, his family, his friends and the entire cast and crew of this marvelous production.
