Actor Biographies (In Alphabetical Order)
Lara Allred (Ballerina Doll, Chimney Sweep, Ensemble)
Lara appeared in Charleston Stage's Young Frankenstein, Catch Me if You Can, 9 to 5, Legally Blonde, Cabaret and Joseph. She performed in the Village Repertory Co.'s Xanadu (Kira), Marvelous Wonderettes (Cindy Lou), Winter Wonderettes (Cindy Lou), One Man Two Guvnors (Pauline), London Wall (Miss Hooper), Spamalot, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, The Man Who Came to Dinner and Ring of Fire. She also choreographed their Spamalot and Wild Party, for which she won a Theatre Charleston Award. Some of her other local performances include: Christine in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Footlight), Annie Sullivan in The Miracle Worker (Footlight), Charity in Sweet Charity (Flowertown), Laura Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie (Threshold), Lily St. Regis in Annie (Charleston Music Hall) and the original Angela Normellino in Perfectly Normel People (Footlight, Threshold, NY International Fringe Festival) for which she won a Theatre Charleston Award.
Madelyn Anderson (Fanny, Ensemble, Jane U/S)
Madelyn is incredibly excited to be jumping back onto the stage at the Dock Street Theatre! Some of her favorite credits include: Annie (Annie), Ghost Child/Caroler/Ensemble (A Christmas Carol), Mayzie the Bird (Dr. Suess' Seussical Jr.), Ursula (Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr.), Little Lucy (A Tale of Two Cities), Madelyn (Toy Land), the Fairy Merry-weather (Disney's Sleeping Beauty), Young Fiona (Shrek the Musical) and Senior Angel Choir (The Best Christmas Pageant EVER). She also loves performing our National Anthem all over the city. She is a member of the St. Phillips Church Choir and a sixth grader at Charleston County School of the Arts, where she is a Theater Major! Her hobbies include singing, soccer, swimming, playing piano and riding her swag-way! She is a proud member of Charleston Stage's Performance Troupe. Katie Arthur (Spinning Top, Chimney Sweep, Ensemble)
Katie, originally from Sterling, VA, recently graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Musical Theatre. Roles at JMU include: Charity in Sweet Charity, Squeaky Fromme in Assassins, Gloria in Boeing Boeing, Anna in Spring Awakening and Olive in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Katie recently starred as Audrey in Charleston Stage's production of Little Shop of Horrors and as Lady Bird 1/Turtle/Young Frog/Mole 2 in A Year With Frog and Toad. Katie is a member of Charleston Stage's 2015-16 Professional Resident Acting Company.
Pen Chance (Admiral Boom, Bank Chairman, Ensemble)
Pen, originally from Augusta, GA, is a recent graduate of Catawba College in Salisbury, NC, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Theatre Arts Administration, along with a minor in Music. Roles at Catawba include: Roger in RENT, El Gallo in The Fantasticks, The Dentist (and others) in Little Shop of Horrors, Reverend Hale in The Crucible and Nicely-Nicely Johnson in Guys & Dolls. Roles at The Augusta Players include: Snoopy in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Jack in Into the Woods, Peter in The Diary of Anne Frank, Lombard in And Then There Were None and Judas/John the Baptist in Godspell. Pen is an experienced studio and touring musician, specializing in vocals and drums/percussion. Pen is a member of Charleston Stage's 2015-16 Professional Resident Acting Company. Lila Clark (Acrobat, Clown Doll, Ensemble)
Lila is a sophomore at Academic Magnet High School and is thrilled to be working with Charleston Stage once again. She started taking classes with Charleston Stage at the age of six and is currently a member of the TheatreWings Master Class. Lila most recently performed in the Ensemble of The Producers. You may have also seen her as Anne in The Diary of Anne Frank, Gertrude in Charleston Stage's 2014 SummerStage production of Seussical Jr., Charlotte in Charlotte's Web and in the Ensemble of Gershwin at Folly. Lila would like to thank her teachers at Charleston Stage for all of their guidance over the years and her friends and family for all of their support.
Letty Clay (Mrs. Corey, Ensemble)
Letty was born and raised for the 1st half of her life in Southern California, but her temporary stopover has turned into a 20+ year stay in beautiful Charleston, SC. She hold a BS Degree from Southern Wesleyan University and is currently working towards an MS from Charleston Southern University. She has previously appeared on stage in Charleston Stage's The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein and Gershwin at Folly as part of the ensemble casts and, most recently, in The Seat of Justice as Viola Pearson and Cora. Letty credits her introduction to the Charleston theater community to the invitation she received to be a part of the ensemble cast of the 2012 production of Porgy and Bess, performed for the first time ever at the Dock Street Theatre. Some of her hobbies and interests include: traveling, watching movies, laughing, enjoying life and spending time with her beautiful and talented daughter, Zariah, extended family, close friends and her growing theater family.
Beth is thrilled to be performing once again with Charleston Stage. Past Charleston Stage credits include: The Seat of Justice (Mrs. Elizabeth Waring), Catch Me If You Can: The Musical (Carol Strong), The Diary of Anne Frank (Mrs. Frank), You Can't Take It With You (Mrs. Kirby), Gershwin at Folly (Dorothy Heyward), 9 To 5: The Musical (Margaret), Inga Binga (Betty) and The 39 Steps (The Woman). Beth most recently appeared with What If? Productions in Cabaret as Fraulein Schneider. Other What If? Productions credits include: Accepting Applications for a Muse (Elizabeth), Five Lesbians Eating A Quiche (Wren), Hearts Full of Blood (Allison), Little Shop of Horrors (Ronette) and Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Yitzhak). When not on stage, Beth is the Director of Marketing/Resident Graphic Designer for Charleston Stage.
Kimi Hugli (Kite Flyer, Chimney Sweep, Ensemble)
Kimi is a graduate of the University of Richmond where she double majored in Theatre and Dance. She is honored to be working on her third show with Charleston Stage, and is really excited to be a part of Mary Poppins! Her previous shows in the Charleston area include: Cabaret (What If? Productions), A Wrinkle in Time (Threshold Rep), The Producers (Charleston Stage), Cats! (Midtown Production) Twilight: Los Angeles 1992 (Threshold Rep), Catch Me If You Can (Charleston Stage), 4000 Miles (Midtown Productions) and the Sherlock Holmes, and Gin Club shows at Black Fedora Comedy Mystery. Previous DC theatre shows include: The King and I (Olney Theatre) and Miss Saigon (Signature Theatre). Carin Lagerberg (Mary Poppins)
Carin, originally from Knoxville, TN, is thrilled to be playing what has been one of her dream roles ever since she saw the movie as a child to close her year here as a Resident Actor. She recently graduated from Samford University in Birmingham, AL with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. You may have seen her this year as Crystal in Little Shop of Horrors or as an Usherette in The Producers. Favorite roles at Samford include: Jane in Jane Eyre, Clara in The Light In the Piazza, and Shelby in Steel Magnolias. Many thanks to this talented cast and to the other Resident Actors for making this such a wonderful year in Charleston. For Dad.
Andrea Rausch (Bird Woman, Ensemble)
After graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Andrea has had the opportunity to perform in many different cities around the world including Iwakuni, Japan. Most recently she was seen as Chairman in The Mystery of Edwin Drood at Footlight Players. Some of her favorite roles include: Shirley/Kiss Me-Feel Me in The Producers, Mother in A Christmas Story, Mrs. Van Dann in The Diary of Anne Frank and in the amazing ensemble cast of Young Frankenstein all with Charleston Stage Company, Ado Annie in Oklahoma, Mrs. MacAfee in Bye Bye Birdie, Helene in Sweet Charity and Ida Webb in Twentieth Century. When not on stage, she can be found teaching throughout the Charleston area with Storytree Theatre. Look for her as Mrs. Holloway in the upcoming HBO series Vice Principals. She would like to thank her amazing husband, Mark, and her two sons, David and Logan, for their love, support and encouragement! Shout out to Mom and Dad! Love you all!!
Kent Reynolds (Northbrook, Policeman, Mr. Punch, Ensemble)
Kent, originally from Kansas City, KS, graduated with a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. After 2 years as a Resident Actor here at Charleston Stage, Kent has to say goodbye after Mary Poppins. He is very grateful for all of the opportunities Charleston Stage has provided him and would like to thank everyone who has worked with him during his time here. He has loved it here, and would not trade it for the world! His Charleston Stage credits include: Seymour Krelborn in Little Shop of Horrors, Detective Carl Hanratty in Catch Me If You Can, Mr. Van Daan in The Diary of Anne Frank, Alexander in Alexander...Very Bad Day, and Fred in A Christmas Carol. Other Regional Theatre Credits include: Smee in Peter Pan, Patsy/Mayor in Spamalot, Ralph in Reefer Madness, and Frankie Epps/Young Soldier in Parade. Veruka Salomone (Jane Banks)
Veruka, who is playing the role of Jane Banks, is excited to be a part of Charleston Stage's production of Mary Poppins. In addition to playing Minnie May in last year's production of Anne of Green Gables, Veruka is a member of Charleston Stage's Performance Troupe. Besides acting and singing, Veruka enjoys science and engineering; she wants to work at NASA when she grows up and help design satellites and space shuttles. She would like to thank her family for their love and support and Casey Parrish for always letting her play the Hamilton soundtrack to and from rehearsals.
Maggie Saunders (Mrs. Lark, Miss Andrews, Ensemble)
Maggie, originally from Huntington, West Virginia, recently graduated from Catawba College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. Catawba credits include: Adriana in Comedy of Errors, Ensemble member in RENT, Ronnette in Little Shop of Horrors, Serena in Legally Blonde and Mary in Huck Finn: A Play with Music. Stage Management credits include: True West, References to Salvador Dali Make Me Hot, The Life of Galileo and Dead Man's Cellphone. Patrick Tierney (George Banks)
Patrick is a former member of Charleston Stage's Professional Resident Acting Program, returning to Charleston Stage for the first time in 8 years! Charleston Stage roles included: Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, Motel in Fiddler on the Roof and Frog in A Year with Frog and Toad. A Southwest Side of Chicago native, Patrick has called the Northside of Chicago home for the past 7 years. Chicago area credits include: Spamalot, All Shook Up, Spelling Bee (Theatre at the Center), Les Mis (Paramount Theatre), Oliver!, A Christmas Carol (Drury Lane Oakbrook), Hello, Dolly!, Camelot (Light Opera Works), La Cage Aux Folles (BoHo Theatre) and A Little Night Music (Circle Theatre). Patrick is a BFA Musical Theatre graduate of Western Illinois University. He would like to thank Marybeth and Julian for this wonderful opportunity!
Ann Webb (Block Head, Chimney Sweep, Ensemble)
Ann is thrilled to be back onstage this season with Charleston Stage this season. Ann's previous experience with Charleston Stage includes ensemble in Catch Me if You Can and The Producers, Diana Barry in Anne of Green Gables, and Sheila in Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. Other favorite roles include Connie Travers in Bonechiller, Grace Farrell in Annie Jr., and ensemble parts in Bring it On and Seussical. Ann is a second year member of the Wings Masterclass program with Charleston Stage. Ann is also a member of Wando high school's Honors Ensemble. Ann would like to thank her family and friends, and everyone at Charleston Stage for their support.
Matthew Willingham (Mr. Von Hussler, Toy Soldier, Ensemble)
Matthew is so excited to be doing another show with Charleston Stage! Matthew is a Charleston native and is currently a junior at the College of Charleston where he is majoring in Theatre with a concentration in Performance. He was last seen as a Kit Kat Boy in What If?'s production of Cabaret. Past credits with Charleston Stage include: The Producers and Catch Me If You Can. He was also seen in CofC's production of Assassins. He was a member of the Charleston Youth Company for six years where he played such roles as Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast and J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Matthew would like to thank all of his family, friends, and teachers for their constant love and support over the years!
Helen Wolfe (Mrs. Punch, Balloon Seller, Ensemble)
Helen grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, and began her theatre career as Scout in the 1996 Nebraska Wesleyan University production of To Kill a Mockingbird. She is excited to return to work with Charleston Stage again after a 5-year hiatus. Past productions with Charleston Stage include: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Marcy Park), Cabaret (Fraulein Kost) and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Helen has a B.S. in Theatre Management from the University of Evansville (Indiana). She thanks her friends and family for encouraging her to pursue her dreams.
