As a nonprofit organization, Charleston Stage relies on tax-deductible contributions to support its productions and its education programs. Each year individuals, foundations, corporations, and government agencies contribute to the success of Charleston Stage. While we are happy to report that our ticket sales remain strong, ticket revenue makes up only 62% of our annual production income. Funding for our Educational Programs comes almost exclusively from the generosity of people like you. Charleston Stage has continued to adjust to the ever-changing economic climate, and your support remains critical to the company's financial and artistic health. This is why your support of Charleston Stage's Annual Campaign is so very important.

Our goal is to raise $100,000 this holiday season towards our overall fundraising goal of $750,000 to guarantee that the Charleston Stage productions, Professional Resident Actor Program, and enriching Education Programs are fully funded. With your help these valuable and enriching arts education experiences will continue to delight and enliven the residents of the Lowcountry.

For 34 years, thanks principally to the generous support of our contributors, Charleston Stage has produced more than 300 shows, presented over 5,000 performances, and played to an audience of over one million. Since 1978, more than half a million young people have benefited from Charleston Stage's extensive arts education programs. In the past year we played to almost 30,000 theatergoers, over 10,000 of which were students attending a special matinee performance.

Last season, after being out of the Historic Dock Street Theatre for three years, we finished our season strong operating in the black. We encourage you to support our efforts by making a gift which provides performances and theatrical training opportunities for over 20,000 Lowcountry youth. Help us meet our fundraising goal and continue to be fiscally sound for many more seasons to come.
