Supporting Players
As a supporting Player, your family or business is invited to "Adopt an Actor". Supporting Players provide hospitality, stipends and housing for Charleston Stage's Resident Professional Acting Company members and professional guest actors.
Adopt a Professional Guest Actor-$10,000
Each year Charleston Stage hires several guest Equity (the professional Actor's Union) Actor to star in a Charleston Stage season production. These professional guest actors not only raise the bar in terms of the talent brought to the Charleston Community, but they also teach special master classes and workshops to our Resident Professional Acting Company and our Arts Education Students. When you "adopt" a guest professional actor, you are providing funding for the salary, housing, transportation, electricity, and insurance for the actor while they reside in Charleston and perform in a Charleston Stage production.
Resident Professional Acting Company-$10,000
This company consists of six young men and women who are hired from over one thousand auditioning actors. They move to Charleston for ten months to act in all Charleston Stage productions and to teach the vast majority of Charleston Stage Arts Education Programs. Each of these actors has a college degree specializing in theatre and the performing arts and will provide arts education to more than 400 students in their ten months at Charleston Stage. "Adopting" a member of our Resident Professional Acting Company provides funding for housing, transportation, electricity and insurance throughout the actors 10-month residency in Charleston.
